TOBY MASON
DIRECTOR
Toby brings significant experience in the lead design and coordination of a wide spectrum of community projects, from small scale development through to high performance facilities, throughout New Zealand and Australia.
Toby’s breadth of understanding and holistic approach to design provides valuable strategic input to client and stakeholders across all project disciplines. He takes pride in worked closely with Clients to deliver robust well considered solutions that are appropriate and that respond directly to the brief.
He combines innovative European experience, with a passion for sustainable design, and an understanding of cladding systems to aid with exploring enhanced energy efficiency and building performance.
He has been involved in a number of technical refurbishment projects and understands the risks, challenges and opportunities that these bring.
Prior to setting up CREATE, he acted as the project coordinator and specialist designer for several significant aquatic and sport facilities in New Zealand, including the new North Island Velodrome, and responsible for the award-winning design of the new feature ETFE and timber roof, on the new Coastland Aquatic Centre.
