Rouse Hill Shopping Centre ETFE Canopy, Sydney

CREATE has been awarded concept design stage for the development of concept options for the new feature roof over the retail arcade at Rouse Hill Shopping Centre, Sydney. The new development is part of GPT Group retail developments. Our scope covered full design services in relation to the feature roof. Cox Architects are responsible for the design of the retail spaces below.

The feature roof covers an area of approximately 5000m2, enclosing the new 250m long crescent shaped mall.

Key ELEMENTS OF THE PROPOSAL:

Iconic roof forms using steel, timber, ETFE and glass.
Delivering striking aesthetic whilst meeting construction and budget restraints.
Provide weather protection and a degree of climate control through passive heating and cooling.
Selected option employs solar shading petals to protect shop fronts.
